Opportunities
At Grant, students and families have many opportunities to be involved and learn outside of the school day. We offer a variety of evening activities for families, as well as after-school programs and clubs for students. Follow us on Facebook and check our calendar to stay up-to-date on our upcoming activities and their schedules!
Family Meetings
We believe that to be successful in school and in life, children need to be equipped with the social and emotional tools necessary to interact with others and create a safe and orderly environment. At Grant, we teach and reinforce the five characteristics of respect, responsibility, kindness, self-control, and honesty. We meet as an entire school once per month to teach, encourage, and celebrate our students.
Great Start Conferences
This event is held at the end of August to welcome new families to school and welcome back those who are returning. It is a good way to touch base with teachers and staff and to bring in school supplies to "lighten the backpack" for the first day of school. Busing information is also available.
Student Council
The Student Council is composed of 4th- and 5th-grade students, whose primary role is to organize, plan, and coordinate school fundraising events, school functions, and special school activities. Students in fourth grade can serve as class representatives. Students in fifth grade can serve as class representatives or run for positions such as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, or media specialist. Meetings are held twice a month during the students' lunchtime.
Fifth-Grade Instrumental Music
Students participating in an instrumental music program develop self-discipline through regular practice, teamwork, and leadership skills while playing with peers, and self-confidence when playing for friends and family.
Special Events
Our Fifth-Grade Recognition ceremony is held each year to honor and recognize our 5th-grade students as they complete their elementary school careers and wish them well on their new adventure—middle school!

Grant Elementary School hosts two Scholastic Book Fairs throughout the school year. The Book Fair offers a wide variety of book choices suitable for children from kindergarten through fifth grade.
